Gordon Gooding, Shelter Island's Chairman of the Community Preservation Fund, in partnership with his wife, Kathleen Gooding, who is the Trustee representing Shelter Island on the Suffolk County Parks Committee, are coordinating with our Town Board and the Suffolk County Legislature to buy 72& 80 S Midway Road to ostensibly preserve it from having 2 big houses built on it.

The price? $3,000,000.00 dollars.

FOR SWAMP LAND.

This land is in no way under the threat of development.
Because no one COULD EVER build a house on it. Ever.
Because they couldn't.
It would be a physically and legally impossible thing to do.
